What now for Rangers after Hibs as Champions League PSV await

Ibrox Noise preached endlessly along with Ally McCoist about why Rangers’ trip to Easter Road should be postponed.

A distraction we said, potential injuries we said.

Most of the replies argued we had to keep momentum going, implying Hibs would be a walkover and we wanted the good performances and results continuing.

We pled with you, preaching why this was not a good idea, why Easter Road is one of the worst places to go, filled with Rangers-haters.

And what if we didn’t have a good performance or result? How would that help momentum?

We hate to say we told you so.

This match should NEVER have gone ahead – Hibs were ready to ruin our mood, our ‘momentum’, and they tried to maim us quite a few times too.

All we got out of that one was dropped points, two red cards and potential injuries with a tonne of reckless tackles.

We got a loss of momentum, more indication that half of our players aren’t interested, and a slump in morale.

The only beneficiaries of that one today were Celtic, Hibs, and PSV.

This was a costly afternoon, and we feared something like this – a massive distraction which ended up damaging us.

Rangers are rank rotten away from home now, having only won one of three so far this season.

Performances like today give us very little hope our travelling fears can be reversed at the cauldron of the Philips Stadion.

If we manage it, Ibrox Noise will be the first to say we got it wrong, and we’ll be absolutely delighted to say it.

But how this ramshackle Rangers can go to Holland and beat PSV is beyond us.

We can’t even beat Hibs.
