Rangers to cut losses with Roofe as Derby move in

As Ibrox Noise told you around 10 days ago, Kemar Roofe is to leave Rangers, and our sources suggested he was destined for Championship and League One.

Well this morning national papers have caught wind of this story and Roofe is being looked at by Derby, who are looking to rebuild following their relegation/demotion and administration nightmare.

The Jamaican has fallen completely out of favour among fans, and while we all recognise how good he can be when fit, his absence from the Portuguese training camp with ‘injury’ while Ianis Hagi had been ruled out till February but was still there summed up Roofe’s position now within the club.

So it looks like Derby could be his next step, with interim coach Liam Rosenior’s side looking for a reliable and high quality forward to take them back to the Championship. So why they’re looking at Roofe we don’t really know…

Being serious, this is a guy 99% of fans are happy to see go, but the downside is we’ll have to cut our losses with damaged goods, in that the club invested £4M in him and will be lucky to get a quarter of that back.

But the sooner he’s gone the better – once a Ranger and all that, but he’s free to leave.
