Latest Rangers injury update as 6 men face absences

Rangers Ryan Jack

Jack during happier times.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst (and Ibrox Noise) provide you today with the latest injury details from Ibrox, with what feels like quite a few players currently out of action.

This is the latest we have on all the affected parties:

John Souttar:

Tongues wagging about his absence from training all week – Gio explained this is down to his having ankle buttons removed, a routine procedure following surgery and recovery. Hopefully the defender will be available soon.

Ryan Jack:

Another calf injury – hasn’t been in full training, just the light stuff, but Gio’s comment that the club are ‘managing his load’ is admittedly slightly concerning. Hopefully he’ll be ready soon.

Kemar Roofe:

An ‘unknown’ injury stopped him even travelling – are you serious? Gio said there was no point taking him, but he wouldn’t have been the only one not able to participate (Hagi and Morelos anyone). No, the club are reportedly fed up with his constant ‘injuries’ and are looking to ship him out.

Filip Helander:

Felt something so went back to the gym rather than continuing full participation in training. He is another one who is seriously struggling to keep fit.

Alfredo Morelos:

He did some pitch work yes but not much – mostly on the bikes. Generally he’s quite away from being fit and getting Colak in now was critical. His ETA is around two months we understand.

Ianis Hagi:

Bleak for the Romanian. Prognosis is that he will be out for around a year, and won’t be back till earliest of February. Grim.

And that’s the bulk of them. 6 men, and we’re not that clear on a return for any of them. Hopefully the next friendly will see a few of them involved.
