What has happened to £3M man at Rangers?

Mateusz Zukowski Rangers

If one signing made in January rather ‘disappeared’ it was Nathan Patterson’s supposed replacement Mateusz Żukowski, signed from Lechia Gdańsk for around £400,000.

He made just one appearance in the cup, a start, no less, v Annan, doing inconspicuously enough as it happens, but aside that not a single appearance from the bench and then he vanished from the squad entirely.

If he was injured, it didn’t merit Giovanni van Bronckhorst ever mentioning it in the frequent injury updates our manager provides in the pressers, so we suspect he isn’t injured.

Indeed, we can barely remember him at training.

So what’s the SP here?

It is a puzzling one – he is no slouch – the lad has a market value of around £3M, so Rangers did well to get him for a modest 6 figures.

But he seems miles away from being involved with training let alone being part of the first team.
