Surprise new theory may help explain Rangers’ bad form

As we discussed earlier, Rangers’ performances since 55 have been pretty poor, and there’s been a bit of a lull.
But there’s a possible reason for this, one which is really rather obvious when you think about it, and we’re surprised so few have mentioned it.
What do Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara, Filip Helander, Cedric Itten and Jon McLaughlin all have in common?
All of them are likely to certain to be representing their countries at this summer’s Euros, and the moment Rangers won 55, their priorities became that.
It’s not exactly ideal, but these players’ dream was not to win 55 with us, because they didn’t have that emotional investment in Rangers the way you and I do, but their dream most definitely is to wear the shirt of their country in a major championship.
Some of the greatest players in history never got to do that, a big example being George Best and more recently Ryan Giggs, and it’s an honour Kamara and Helander will seize upon.
Of course, only three of those players are regulars, but with the season winding down and thoughts of most players going towards the summer, it may explain some of the loss of focus in the last month.
