A lot to cover from Sunday’s outstanding win over an impressive Dundee United who really gave it a go at Ibrox, despite the Fortress Rangers’ home is these days.
In this piece we are going to focus on the superb Joe Aribo, who, after well over 18 months in Govan, finally exploded onto the scene with his best performance in the shirt by miles as he tore United to pieces and scored a worldie goal in the process.
This is what we’ve waited for from the big Nigerian – we’ve been huge fans of his potential, of his clear talent, but his inability to ever take matches by the scruff of the neck and dominate them was getting frustrating.
But v United he did exactly that, with a goal, an assist, and an all-round confident performance which finally demonstrated more fully the talent the lad has.
We’ve known for (now) years he could be this good, but we’ve had to wait very patiently for him to truly impress in this way concertedly – and at Ibrox v Utd he did.
His strength, poise, control, and composure were all in evidence as he made the game look easy, and even then we still don’t think this is as good as he gets.
No, his whoscored rating was 8.50 and he deserved all of it.
Finally, Joe Aribo looks like the player we signed.
Took a while huh…
Aribo was fabulous he’s really a threat on either side of the field . Superb . Once we got going we looked very good and should have scored more. Enjoyed Wright’s appearance he’s a good signing this lad. Only negative goal conceeded slack drop in concentration . But hey
