Triple injury blow rocks Rangers

Rangers’ preparations for Saturday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox have been rocked with the news that a number of players are set to miss the match with injury.

From last Thursday and a fully-fit squad, Pedro Caixinha’s plans have been disrupted with injuries to Lee Wallace, Jordan Rossiter and Niko Kranjcar.

Wallace is set to be replaced tomorrow night at least by on-loan Cardiff man Declan John, but his absence may be more telling come Saturday and the visit of Rodgers’ men. John may well continue in his place, or reserve fullback Lee Hodson may be wheeled in from the cold to slot in there.

Meanwhile Jordan Rossiter’s wretched time at Ibrox continues with a further and new injury, this time to his knee, which appears to have ruled him out for an undisclosed amount of time. The midfielder continues to be denied a smooth run of either playing time or fitness and that seems set to continue.

Last but not least Croatian playmaker Niko Kranjcar, ruled out of the last trip to Thistle, is still being assessed and is a major doubt for Saturday’s titanic clash.

These are problems Pedro Caixinha could have done without, with such an important September underway in earnest.
