Jack sees red (again) as Rangers wilt (again)

Another Rangers match, yet more chaos. In truth Rangers were not absolutely 100% horrible tonight, although not far off, but once again another opponent bullied us and deserved their point.

Sadly this has become the norm for Rangers now – to play like this, fail to take chances, and lose discipline.

Ryan Jack has had enough chances now – he is not a silly boy with lots to learn, he is an experienced pro who has not delivered on the pitch anywhere near enough to compensate for his new hobby of picking up red cards.

8 things we learned against Hamilton

Last night, against a backdrop of pressure on both the squad and the manager, Rangers managed an ultimately comfortably victory over Martin Canning’s Hamilton Accies, a victory, lest it be forgotten, that was at a tricky away venue on artificial turf and which was achieved in the face of conceding an early goal.

Ibrox Noise takes our readers through the main lessons we believe we can take from the night at the SuperSeal:

The Rangers summer signing proving his doubters wrong

When Rangers were linked to Portuguese winger Daniel Candeias, Ibrox Noise’s very own Richard justifiably wondered why on earth we were making a move in his direction.

Nothing about Candeias’ previous career stood out as anything better than what we already had, and the fee for his services was said to be well in excess of £1M.

While a four-season Benfica veteran, sadly the 29-year old had never even made an appearance as sub for the Portuguese giants, far less started for them, with loan spells dominating his CV.

Comment: Rangers 4 - 1 Dundee

Before we analyse today’s win over Dundee, it must be remembered that just like v County, we faced a bottom-feeding side, in this case, with just a single point to their name all season.

Just like County there was a bit of toiling before we finally broke our opponent down, and just like County, there was a messy goal conceded to spoil things a touch.

Rangers rampant - talking points v the Pars

 Article by: Ibrox Noise

There were definitely signs against Motherwell that Pedro Caixinha’s Rangers were on the right track. While the overall performance was not quite magical, there were hints of a combination of good football and the will to win – the match could well have been a loss, but the fact that it was an away win bode well for the direction Rangers were going in.

Indeed, the trio of pre-season friendlies had given us a huge boost too – perhaps a slightly artificial one in light of their being friendlies, but nevertheless two wins and a draw against three very good teams was great for morale and showed Caixinha’s vision might be coming together.

Mystery over Portuguese target

 Article by: Richard Fillingham

Daniel Candeias is a 28-year-old Portuguese winger who is currently playing for Turkish club Alanyaspor and is on loan from his parent club Benfica. He has featured in 28 games and scored 4 goals in Turkey and it seems that Rangers are interested in bringing him to join Pedro Caixinha in Scotland.

He was signed in 2010, by Benfica and was immediately put out on loan to Portimonense from the town of Portimão and played 28 games for them, to give him a lot more first team experience, before he would get into Benfica’s superb top team.
