Confirmed: Rangers complete signing of Jamie Murphy

Rangers have tonight completed the signing of Brighton’s Jamie Murphy, according to Sky Sports News’ Jim White.

The forward, 28, caused some concern among fans when he was not pictured boarding the club’s flight to Florida in Edinbugh, but it has been confirmed any issues have now been resolved, and the player has become a Ranger.

It completes Graeme Murty’s first high-profile signing of January, and is a big coup for both he and DoF Mark Allen, to get an experienced Scottish international and EPL experienced attacker.

Murphy is expected to hold down a first team place and be the kind of quality Rangers need going forward – as well as a massive shift of some badly needed dead wood.

The ex-Motherwell man is expected to join up in Florida over the next 24 hours, as Rangers begin their winter program out in the sunnier climes of the USA, ready for the second half of the season.
