Latest Liverpool humiliation highlights Rangers’ rotten luck

Nothing else indicates Rangers’ bad luck against feeble Liverpool more than their defeat today at the City Ground to second-bottom Nottingham Forest.

For anyone trying to claim Liverpool are even close to being anything like the force they were last season or before, the loss of Sadio Mane has completely derailed them, and now they languish midtable, falling further, after Napoli as well put them in their place in the Champions League.

Rangers’ loss might have broken records and been mocked, but it was unfairly done so given how average Liverpool actually are these days and the bad luck of losing a key man at a pivotal time – this is NOT the Liverpool that won the UCL, the League or even got to the Paris final – this is the Roy and Gerrard Houllier, the tripe one that deservedly sits among the middle of the PL.

And it shows just how badly Rangers missed Connor Goldson when Klopp brought his men north. Yes, we got it all wrong at Anfield, but both goals were set pieces. At Ibrox? We were more than a match, and we justifiably led in the match.

The reaction to the second half was unfair, and we peddled the line repeatedly that we had literally no defence for the second 45, only for the mockery to continue.

Liverpool, literally, are a shambles, and only have 9 points in the UCL because Rangers got the tactics wrong at Anfield, and suffered shocking luck at Ibrox. Anyone thinking Rangers are out of their depth at UCL level based on the Ibrox result is completely wrong. Neither Ajax or Liverpool are great shakes, only Napoli in our group are actually quite strong.

Anyone, ANYONE can beat Liverpool these days – get it out of your head that they’re the UCL and PL-winning colossus under world-beating Klopp.

They, quite simply, are absolutely rotten these days and Rangers suffered such cursed luck when they came here.
