Kemar Roofe out AGAIN as Rangers lose another player

Rangers have been hit by yet another yet another yet another injury blow after Kemar Roofe was potentially ruled out till 2023.

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst today confirmed Roofe has picked up yet another injury and will miss around two weeks, but then that’s probably the same two weeks it was going to take Alfredo Morelos to sign a deal. It’s the new 7-10 days.

As such with the world cup arriving in a little over three weeks from now, the chances of Roofe being back before then and actually playing are pretty modest, given his entire footballing contribution to the club this season has been a total of 28 minutes, and he’s miles off being fully match fit.

So is it actually a blow? Not really, nothing is any more. The injury list now:

Goldson, Helander, Souttar, Jack, Kamara, Ofoborh, Hagi, Lawrence and Roofe with Lowry’s status of returning being a touch fragile.

Not to mention John Lundstram and James Tavernier’s ongoing injury issues as well, with both playing through the pain we understand, certainly in Lundstram’s case. Long story short, with news like this from the club repeatedly coming out, rather than anything to inspire us (Sir Walter statue aside), is it any wonder Ibrox Noise isn’t especially lavish with the positivity these days?

It is a pretty grim state of affairs, and we wait a fair few months we think before our squad is starting to look anything like healthy again. What IS going on with the medical staff at Ibrox and Auchenowie, or is it the training system by Gio?

That’s an absolute pile up of players on long-term absence, with John Souttar being more interested in running his coffee shop these days – far too many players in Rangers’ colours aren’t available for selection, and it’s mindboggingly bewildering.

Roofe, in truth, has been questionable for a long time, the Jamaica international being suspect mentally over his injuries for some period. But end of the day, it’s another loss, yet another one to add to a constantly growing pile of them.
