A major shock could be in store for Rangers fans after number one goalie Jon McLaughlin missed training today opening the door for Allan McGregor tomorrow night v Napoli.

McLaughlin, who has, let’s be blunt, been unfailingly poor and not up to the task of keeping Rangers’ goal this season, mysteriously failed to attend training, with Gio set to reveal the reason today in his pre-Napoli presser.

But it clearly paves the way either for the old number one McGregor to take his place between the sticks or for Robby McCrorie to get a chance.

We will assume it is injury or personal reasons-related that the current first choice wasn’t at training, but nevertheless whatever the cause, many Rangers fans will be pleased to see McLaughlin not in Rangers’ goal for a titanic night like facing the Italian giants.

More as we get it.
