We had to laugh at some quotes from Germany. From a Celtic fan no less. Some random web designer in Frankfurt (no idea why they wanted a Celtic fan in Frankfurt but hey, maybe that sums the point in this piece up) said this about the Europa League Final:

“I actually think this game could have a serious impact on the world economy. There won’t be much work done in Frankfurt next Thursday if Eintracht win in Seville. It will be like Germany winning the World Cup. That is all I can compare it to.”

A midrange Bundesliga side make the UEL final and Germany are right behind them to win, while admitting it would be the biggest thing to happen there in a long time.

Meanwhile, in Scotland, our own press are talking about Celtic winning the title…

So, our top team is in the UEL final, and our press are more interested in covering pages with green and white to highlight an SPL win.

This is the difference between Scotland and every other nation.

Any other country is 100% behind their representative to succeed in Europe, in Scotland we find ways to play it down and even highlight another team instead.

While there have been some fairminded Celtic fans who actually want us to win, and fair play to them for that, the majority of press and social media is either against our club or talking about Celtic winning.

In fact, the big story is 10 titles in 11 years, as if that matters, compared with Rangers in a European final.

This is one of the many reasons we must win.
