Picture of embarrassment as Rangers & Celtic line up together

The inaugural Stavros Celebration Cup was launched today in images which we can only describe as desperate, embarrassing, and deeply out of touch.

Aided by Australian minister for sport and stuff, Stuart Ayres (no blame on his part, he’s quite happy for this atrocity to be held down under), ex-Celtic man Scott McDonald and slightly forgotten early 80s Rangers player-turned manager for all manner of barely-known eastern teams David Mitchell, the motley crew assembled themselves on Sydney Harbour with the Opera House in full splendour.

No one of a Rangers persuasion wants this thing – aside the board, who gave it the ok.

We don’t care about the alleged money it’s going to make (rumours claim different figures), it’s a sell-out to celebrate Celtic’s manager and is only taking place because he’s their boss.

Rangers have sold their soul here, and it’s no wonder our fans want no part of it.

We have had many objections on the site to this thing, not just from UK-based fans but ones down under too, and it’s certainly split them down there a fair old amount.

Call it off?

Probably not going to happen – it’s gone as far as to be launched, which basically means it’s happening.

Pity Rangers didn’t listen to the fans on this one.
