Rangers have just secured £1M thanks to destroying the world’s 11th best side over two legs, after UEFA prize money for the last 16 was awarded Ibrox way.
The kitty for the summer just got a little bit stronger, following £16M for Nathan Patterson, £4.5M for Steven Gerrard and now £1M extra million for the beating of Reus, Witsel and co, which brings Rangers’ grand income outside of merch, TV and ticket sales to £21.5M, almost completely wiping out the deficit and taking Rangers incredibly close to profit territory.
The summer will of course be crucial in winning 56 to guarantee a colossal pot of about £50M for UCL, but before then, almost £22M has been nailed thanks to events of the past two+ months, and with Thursday’s win over Borussia, the numbers are only helped further.
Rangers have put out the favourites, who knows how far they can go now…
Game on…
