Nigeria could be set to launch a curious little quirk tomorrow by fielding Rangers star Joe Aribo and former Rangers ‘flop’ Umar Sadiq in the same team.
Rangers’ midfield lynchpin has been in sparkling form, and is set to be named in the starting XI, but Almeria’s Sadiq, a ‘legend’ for his time at Ibrox, has been in superb form since leaving Govan and has free scored with the rest of them, being valued now at £60M.
The striker, who doesn’t have a cap to his name, has an extraordinary record at almost all the clubs he’s played for, and through a combination of injury and other reasons, Sadiq got the call and will represent his country this winter.
We have to say, the potential for Joe Aribo to assist an Umar Sadiq goal would set quite a few tongues wagging, and be more than a spot ironic that Sadiq could have been a Rangers man to this day, if managed correctly.
Wonder what the odds are for such an outcome?
Could Aribo assist a Sadiq goal?
Or vice versa!
Either way, good luck to them both, especially our man in Cameroon.
