Hearts have named their price for Rangers to secure new signing John Souttar now, and it’s certainly not beyond the club’s capacity.

The Tynecastle side want around £500,000 plus addons if they are to release him now, and Souttar himself is said to be very keen to make the move immediately.

It would mean getting his services pronto, with a key number of doubts lurking at the back with regards club personnel, and Souttar arriving would help that out somewhat.

The 25-year old dumped all competing clubs in England, deciding the best place for him to improve as a player was Ibrox, but as things stand, he won’t do that improving until the summer.

He is, as we say, eager to leave Tynecastle ASAP and join up at Ibrox before this window is closed, but it is now in Rangers’ hands to pay up what Robbie Neilson’s men are asking.

In fairness, the fee is fair from unfair.

Hopefully a deal can be struck imminently.
