GVB has confirmed he recalled Cedric Itten in a mutual decision to end the Swiss star’s dreadful time in Germany.

Despite securing a Bundesliga side, and despite them being goalshy and breaking European records for how poor they are, Itten was still barely playing and despite that as well, he got a couple of goals.

And the decision to bring him back was to help him become the player he needs to be, something Furth just weren’t allowing to happen.

Despite a striker with a CV of scoring a lot of goals, the German strugglers did a ‘SG’ and ignored Itten pretty much from the start and elected to use other options, none of which helped them.

Meanwhile a quality Swiss international was wasted on the bench. Sounds familiar.

Gio wants to change that.

He wants to find a role for Itten, something a bit different up front, and Itten’s scoring record with all clubs (and country) has actually been very good indeed.

So it was time to come home, and hopefully Itten may surprise a few people by managing to make it at Ibrox after all.
