Wonderful night for Gio’s Rangers soiled by shock announcement

On a fine night for Rangers where GVB’s unbeaten record continues and the visiting side could even have won in France, sadly the news broke that midfielder Ryan Jack has returned to the treatment table after he picked up an injury of some nature in training.

We want to only look at the positives from Thursday night’s impressive performance in Lyon, and focus only on Scott Wright’s finest show in a Rangers shirt, and the size of Calvin Bassey’s back pocket to hold the ineffectual Moussa Dembele in it, but sadly Gio’s pre-match confirmation that Jack is once again unavailable slightly soured an otherwise fine night.

We feel for Jack – his body is simply not letting him get back into football, and he will be devastated at missing out in France.

He could, however, look at the example of Steven Naismith who was effectively out for almost two years back in 2007/2008 having just joined Rangers, but did finally get back to become a massive part of the side until sadly curtailed again in November 2011.

So all is not lost for Jack – but his problems have been going on for a very long time, and we can only hope our medical staff finds a way to get him 100% fixed.
