Rangers fan favourite could exit Ibrox for good

As Ibrox Noise reported all season, Hadjuk Split are set to retain Niko Katic in his homeland potentially buying out his £3M option to purchase.

With the ex-manager well known to dislike Katic, and dumping him out on loan first chance he could get, and frankly treating the big Croat abysmally throughout his time in Scotland, Split were keen to secure the giant stopper’s services for the season, with an option to buy.

And the £3M deal could well be taken up, or at the very least the former Belupo man will remain with Split in a continuation of the loan agreement.

Why does Gio not want him back?

Because Gio is shaping the team he has, with the vision he has for the club. Players away on loan when a new manager comes in have next-to-no chance of getting opportunities because the manager is completely distanced from them as he gets to know only his immediate squad.

If you have a gripe over the likely exit of Katic, blame Gerrard. He and he alone isolated Katic and dumped him, no one else.

But it seems that exit will extend at least till the summer.
