Rangers confirm major appointment as Auchenhowie gets set for overhaul

Rangers' new Head of Development, Zeb Jacobs....

As Ibrox Noise told you a few weeks ago, the appointment of Zeb Jacobs is now official and the former Antwerp youth coach takes Graeme Murty’s place as Head of Development.

The 26 year old, a very young coach by today’s standards, was in the sights of other clubs but GVB and the management team got in quickly to snap him up.

As we said before, he was an aspiring midfielder at 20 before he quit the game to go into the backroom side of it, and has impressed many and won a lot of admirers.

He will now bring his brand of youth development to Auchenhowie, and may we finally see our kids become an integral part of our club and not farmed out to Alloa all the time.

As Ibrox Noise’s Derek put it, we want to see a new generation of Ryan Kents flourish at Ibrox – ok, he wasn’t ours, but the technical skill the lad has is very much in the repertoire of both Jacobs and assistant coach Dave Vos.

In short, Rangers are appointing shrewdly, with some wise acumen coming in the right direction.

He begins next month.
