“We’ll be lucky to keep him” – Stevie makes bold claim on Rangers man

Rangers fans have reacted in some small concern over Steven Gerrard’s comments on Joe Aribo, saying last night that the club would be lucky to hold onto the playmaker.

With interest down south and on the continent rising in the Nigerian international (Galatasaray had a £6M bid rejected) Gerrard is well aware that just two months remain till the next window, and appears similarly noting of the vultures swirling around the midfielder.

Aribo of course had a fine night last night, and in adding aggression to his game was a complete stand out for the Famous, but he’s one we want to hold onto and we’re sure the club is working hard on extending his deal already, albeit he still has till summer 2023 on it.

There have been unsubstantiated reports Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace are monitoring him, and while our sources have dismissed this as untrue, it doesn’t mean other PL sides aren’t interested and we know mainland European ones are.

Aribo has been in excellent form this season, albeit with a slight dip over September, and his stock has certainly risen as a result, but he’s not one Rangers have any intention of losing and any bidding clubs will have to dig deep to even draw any consideration from Rangers’ board.

In truth, Gerrard was speaking more figuratively, that while we have no intention of selling him, we will consider ourselves fortunate to have a player of that quality, which of course we do.

Hopefully for a long time to come.
