Ibrox Noise was recently alerted to a bewildering stat hosted on the BBC site, which provided match ratings for all players on both sides in the match v Hibs.

These ratings are fan voted, and naturally can be voted by any fan of any club, but the results for Sunday’s clash were absolutely shocking.

According to this poll, the player widely regarded by fans on social network as the star performer, John Lundstram, was voted by a distance the worst on the pitch of both teams, with a diabolical 4.18 out of 10.

We are trying to figure this one out.

Roofe was by a distance the best, at 7.66, while the underwhelming Steven Davis was second at 6.13, but it was Lundstram’s bizarre numbers of well below 5, apparently voted for by Rangers fans which completely perplexes us.

Now there’s unlikely to be a ‘conspiracy’ here, because all players would be as vulnerable as others to such voting, so we don’t really have an answer as to why Lundstram would be bottom.

It was suggested Rangers fans don’t yet believe in him to the extent it appears, and that may be true, but doesn’t account for the simple fact that he was extremely impressive during this 90 minutes.

Strange one. Answers on a postcard.
