Steven Gerrard today confirmed Everton’s £8M bid for Nathan Patterson was ‘way off’ Rangers’ valuation of him, as Ibrox Noise revealed some weeks ago.

As we explained, Rangers have a valuation around £15M on the Scotland international’s head, a value that could grow, and Stevie’s confirmation that £8M was ‘way off’ supports the notion of around £15M for the RB.

We must admit we got a lot of abuse over that (from some of our own readers), for saying the club’s numbers on him were in the £15M region, but Gerrard today confirmed that with a strong inferral.

Patterson is one with a huge future, and Gerrard will soon have a big call to make. Tavernier, or Patterson, or play both.

Because it is evident if you value a star at £15M, give or take, and rate him as highly as Rangers do, you cannot keep him on the bench.

Stevie’s own words reveal how highly the club hold him in standing, and we doubt Patterson will be a bench player much longer.
