Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent are set to miss the visit of 4th place Motherwell after Steven Gerrard confirmed Kent’s injury is to rule him out for a month while Morelos tweaked an injury and is unlikely to make it for Flag Day.

Speaking at his weekend presser, Gerrard confirmed Kent’s form is the only reason his performances aren’t great, revealing there’s been no previous injury for the winger, and explained the scan on his new knock doesn’t bode well for at least the rest of September and deep into October.

It means Rangers are certainly down three men now for the next while, with Filip Helander already out for the next few months, while striker Morelos and Kent join him on the sidelines with injuries of varying levels of seriousness.

Ryan Jack of course remains long-term absent and it’s become so predictable that no one is even asking about his progress any longer, so Rangers are essentially down four key men now, with the call having been made to send Niko Katic away too.

Morelos’ injury and Kent’s are hardly welcome, and thins the options further, but that is why Rangers have a big squad.

A good bounce back needed on Sunday.
