The Scottish government were last night under fire for apparently aiding Lyon in their battle v Rangers this week by inexplicably allowing three of their Covid-barred players flight into Scotland anyway, in what appears a flagrant violation of their own protocols in order to make the visiting team stronger.
Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Paqueta and Tino Kada, three of the Ligue 1 giants’ key players, will not have to undergo quarantine on entrance to the UK despite being in a red-listed nation recently, and are fully available to feature on Thursday.
As said by the government.
There is literally no reason given for this exemption, and indeed even their follow up statements fails entirely to explain exactly what facilitated this.
Indeed, all the follow up comment does is explain why they shouldn’t have allowed any of these three into Scotland, going by their own rules.
And yet, they will come anyway.
We cannot help wondering if these players had been opponents of Celtic, would the government have come to the same outcome…
Think we all know the answer to that.
