Claims have been made that Rangers’ Borna Barisic is to be the subject of an at least four-team bidding war this summer.

The Croat star, shockingly omitted from their opening group game v England, is said to be attracting interest from Leeds, Wolves, Aston Villa and Arsenal as all four look to bolster their squads for a crack at a European place next season.

Barisic, whose value will rise assuming he regains the shirt from Gvardiol v the Czechs, has certainly been attracting interest since he joined Rangers, with his £1.5M transfer fee now pennies and the Croat worth around 10x that number.

Reports are that Rangers dismissed an £8M bid for him last summer, believed to be from Roma, and those Italian giants have gone a little quiet on their interest, but we don’t expect it to be gone.

But we do expect a clutch of clubs to make bids for Barisic, and a few of them may well come from England.
