A summer bidding war is expected for Rangers’ Romanian star Ianis Hagi after Spanish giants Sevilla firmly joined the queue for his services, following Lazio and Real Madrid.
The 22-year old attacking midfielder has been fairly prominent this campaign in Govan, but the interest from continental sides has never fully gone away, and now money-laden Sevilla are among the suitors as the Europa League kings look to strengthen their side further.
Reports claim Rangers seek at least £6M for his signature, but given the name and reputation not to mention his impressive assist count, the club would be looking for more. Information is that, at the moment, Sevilla want to shell out just £4.5M which would represent a modest £1.5M profit on the ex-Genk man.
However, with other interested parties definitely in the mix, Rangers don’t have to let the attacker go for anything below market value.
Steven Gerrard is currently looking ahead to the next campaign, and with Sevilla ‘insisting’ on making this signing, if they bid big enough, the boss might just have some more funds this summer.
More as we get it.
