After two dropped points at a stubborn Motherwell, Ibrox Noise brings you our ratings for a rather forgettable afternoon at Fir Park.

McGregor:

Didn’t have much to do at all. Had to pick the ball out of the net, but otherwise a totally uneventful afternoon. 6

Tavernier:

Did put in a few crosses but another match that Tavernier isn’t looking quite his usual self in. He’s not hiding, in fairness, but he was, and is, definitely off his best. 6

Goldson:

One of the most familiar sights in the Gerrard era is Goldson on the ball in midfield looking for someone to pick a pass to. That was nearly constant in this one. Defensively caught out like the rest at the goal. 6

Balogun:

Didn’t look terribly assured in this one, potentially affected by a warm up injury. Caught out at the goal as well. 6

Barisic:

Superb assist for the goal, and peppered in as many crosses as he could. A reasonable afternoon for him. 7

Davis:

Had a tonne of the ball but was unable to make anything happen – his through pass for Morelos summed his afternoon up. Good ideas and worked pretty hard but little came off. 6

Kamara:

One to forget for the Finn. Not sure how he lasted the 90 minutes – passing was a mess, and he looked less than confident. Some questionable form creeping into his game the past few matches. 6

Aribo:

Completely blindsided by Cole for the goal, just like he was v Aberdeen. Bit more lazy this time though, and his fallacy here highlighted how badly we miss Ryan Jack. His play was flat, he could make little happen, and with a screaming chance at a shot he blazed wildly wide. Poor. 5

Kent:

After an excellent display at Pittodrie, sadly Kent didn’t show up today. He barely touched the ball at all in the first half hour, and while he got more involved in the second, he wasn’t able to make a single thing happen. 5

Hagi:

This is someone who did try a bit, who tried to get involved and roll his sleeves up. Unfortunate to be subbed. 6

Morelos:

Aside not scoring, this was actually a lively outing again for the Colombian. He’s been better, but he was definitely not Rangers’ worst offender today. He was ok. 7

Subs:

Itten:

The goalscorer – made a fine impact and will be wondering when he’ll get his chance at a run in the team. 7

Defoe:

A decent touch and shot and could have been the match winner. Registered Rangers’ only meaningful shot on target aside the goal. 6

Barker:

Had no time to impact and only got three touches of the ball. Literally did nothing with it. N/A

Steven Gerrard:

The manager put out the same team that delivered well v Aberdeen, but the same team didn’t show up. Lethargic, sideways passing will have the manager disappointed and frustrated, but his changes only went so far and he waited too long before throwing Defoe on. No idea why he added Barker to things. 6
