Rangers have been given a major boost for this weekend as the club ‘trident’ is fully available.

After his earlier comments this week confirmed Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe were ‘nearly’ back in full training and were therefore doubts for the weekend, inside a couple of days it’s all changed again as both strikers have rejoined the group and will be considered for selection to face the Arabs.

It means all three of Rangers strikers, Itten, Kemar Roofe and Defoe will be at the manager’s disposal for the first time since signing the two new boys from St Gallen and Anderlecht respectively, and we can only imagine the influence a wily old fox like Jermain Defoe is going to have in training upon the two slightly younger pups.

It means Rangers do not have to worry at all about the morality and practicality of using wantaway man Alfredo Morelos because he’s completely covered by those three.

So, all round, the only issues left are who starts.

But that’s for Stevie to decide, and we have to say having the full compliment of attackers available now, with just Joe Aribo sadly indisposed for a while yet, is a breath of fresh air and gives the manager a tonne of options for a big match, his first, v Dundee United.

It’s essential to return from the break ground running, and while there’s no Aribo for a while, the squad has been managing extremely well in his absence anyway, and we’ll await and expect when it comes to the weekend’s fixture.

Bring it on.
