Rangers have been given a new injury concern after Steven Gerrard confirmed Niko Katic, Joe Aribo and Kemar Roofe remain sidelined from the entire squad following ahead-of-schedule recoveries from both Brandon Barker and especially Ryan Jack but Swiss star Cedric Itten has sadly joined the stricken trio with a knee injury.

It adds up to a mixed bag for Rangers, with Borna Barisic also continuing to nurse a small injury picked up on international duty then aggravated in Holland, and while available as far as we know for tomorrow, nevertheless a slight risk.

But it’s good to have Jack and Barker back, although the pair will have to earn their way back in after both Steven Davis and Jordan Jones delivered in their absences.

Neither is likely to be completely fit for Thursday anyway, so we would imagine both NI stars would retain their places, but the news over Itten is a lot more drastic.

At best Gerrard has confirmed he is a ‘doubt’ for tomorrow, but the chances are he won’t make it, and we don’t know exactly how serious his condition is.

It’s certainly a patchy clump of news – some good, some bad, some in the middle.
