Kent bid has major implications for Rangers

Rangers News Ibrox Borna Barisic Ibrox Noise Ryan Kent

Still, if we see some of this today....

Steven Gerrard’s confirmation that Leeds have indeed bid around £10M for Ryan Kent has created a wider implication which should not be taken lightly.

Only a week or two, the same club were attributed with an interest in Borna Barisic, and while the source of the story was dubious at best, with the Kent bid officially arriving, it’s clear Bielsa has interest in some of Rangers’ top assets, and following the bid from the midlands for our winger, we can probably expect to have to stave off something similar for our Croat star.

Bielsa has effectively got £160M in transfer funds – the Argentine fully intends to build this promoted sleeping giant into an English powerhouse again.

It will of course take years to do that, but he has the funds in place to make a bit of a start, and his reported interest in Barisic plus confirmed bid for Kent suggests he sees some of Rangers’ prize assets as a fine place to start.

It also highlights something else, which we will cover in a separate entry, but it’s safe to say Kent is definitely a wanted man down south and Rangers need to be wary about Barisic going the same way.

Barisic of course is still being monitored by a tonne of big European clubs, with Roma and Leeds the main two presently being mentioned, and that does mean that Rangers can certainly expect mammoth bids for his services, given his current form too, otherwise he too goes nowhere.

Interesting times at Ibrox.
