“Suspicious” – why two-man Rangers farce is beyond the pale…

It was with some amusement that Ibrox Noise noted Graham Dorrans’ free transfer over to Dundee. Not amusement at the fact he’s now ended up at the lowly level of the Scottish Championship, but that we raise an eyebrow over both he and Jordan Rossiter’s remarkable ability to remain fit when not in the side at Ibrox.

For 3+ years, give or take in either case, both players managed circa 25 matches for Rangers, taking a very healthy wage in all that time, before in Rossiter’s case being loaned out to Bury without a single graze being reported. Now he’s at Fleetwood, and guess what – nearly ever-present bar just one match missed this season of 9.

We can’t help wondering just why this boy couldn’t remain fit for more than a second at Ibrox but has had essentially no issues in 8+ months of football with other clubs south of the border.

Then there’s Dorrans – we have nothing against him personally, but how suspicious are we allowed to be when a man manages barely 25 matches in two+ years at Ibrox, leaves by a payoff then gets an easy gig at Dundee.

True, Dundee is hardly the most lucrative destination, and his wage won’t be anything like what he got at Ibrox (said to be around £15K-20K) but it’s still a cosy job on a solid wage as his career hits its twilight years. And we can near-guarantee the lad will remain completely fit.

In short, this whole thing is a bit of a farce. We’re not resenting these two for finding their feet and careers elsewhere – they did end up surplus at Ibrox.

But they ended up surplus because they couldn’t stay fit for more than a minute, and Steven Gerrard had enough.

Now they move on, and in Rossiter’s case remains completely fit and has done ever since he joined Bury in January. We envisage the same for Dorrans.

All-in-all – it’s cost Rangers a lot of money – millions, in fact, for no return at all. Thank you Warby for Rossiter and Pedro for Dorrans.
