Aribo starts – predicted Rangers XI to face St Joseph’s

With tonight’s UEL curtain-raiser almost upon us, Ibrox Noise thought we’d have a quick look at the trip to Gibraltar and suggest the XI who will start v St Joseph’s.

First off, we know the side who started in Govan is not the side starting tonight, and Stevie was very specific about saving some players. So, with that in mind, let’s have a look at your Ibrox Noise predicted XI to line up on the continent:

McGregor. Obviously.

Defence:

James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Borna Barisic.

We’d be surprised if Edmundson starts tonight, even though he did himself solidly on Sunday. And it’s time for the Croat FB to step up. Polster will be on the bench.

Midfield:

Davis, Kamara, Aribo.

Davis is going to be a starter given the form he has been in the past few months, while Kamara is a Gerrard favourite. Aribo is the high-profile signing and the manager is going to want to use him. We’re torn here between he and Docherty.

Attack:

Jones, Stewart, Ojo

A complete change up front, with three new signings all starting.

Your Ibrox Noise XI (4:3:3):

McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Katic, Barisic; Davis, Kamara, Aribo; Jones, Stewart, Ojo

Arfield is included in the squad for this tie but will not be involved tonight.

Bench:

Foderingham, Polster, Edmundson, Halliday, Jack, Docherty, Hastie, Defoe

With Morelos’ ‘injury’ at the moment, we can’t see him being even on the bench.

But hey, we could get it all wildly wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time (!)

Let the games commence!
