Third signing confirmed – another four in the works – busy summer

Rangers today announced Greg Stewart on a two-year day but the borderline TV media blackout would suggest no one came through the Marble Staircase at all.

Nevertheless, over the course of the next four days, Rangers could have taken their summer business up to seven, with Steven Gerrard keen to get as much incoming complete as possible before pre-season.

Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie, and Greg Stewart are confirmed, while Liverpool’s Sheyi Ojo and Charlton’s Joe Aribo are reported to be close, while Bolton’s Josh Magennis and West Ham’s Marcus Browne are said to be in talks.

Admittedly few of these are headline acts, and indeed Hastie barely counts given the stories about him going back out on loan (unconfirmed), but Jordan Jones and Sheyi Ojo are certainly interesting additions if the latter gets the deal done for the reported Monday return to Auchenhowie, as has been claimed.

Gerrard said the incoming wouldn’t be like last summer, where 14 came to Ibrox before September, and a few came after that, and so far that seems fairly true.

Whether fans are overall happy with the calibre of player coming in is for them to decide, but it can at least be confirmed formally that Greg Stewart joins Jones and Hastie as a summer signing at Ibrox.
