Rangers offer second contract in two days – this time to Chelsea man…

Rangers have been today reported to have offered 26-year old Czech defender Tomas Kalas a contract. The Chelsea defender had a torrid time at Wembley v England in the 5-0 thrashing in March, but that hasn’t seemingly put Steven Gerrard off pursuing the recent Bristol loan and now word is a deal is on the table, as it is with Charlton AM Joe Aribo.

Kalas has spent most of his career in the English Championship with the likes of Fulham and Middlesbrough, but has made a small number of PL appearances for his parent club, and cost the Londoners around £6M back in the day.

We can’t say we know a lot about this guy, in truth, but we know his reputation is pretty solid, and his 24 months in Holland with Vitesse only enhanced that, and the 6ft stopper may well be looking for his calling, much in the way Liverpool’s Ryan Kent did.

Is this one we want? Going by what we know of him, we reserve a touch of judgement, but we do need bodies at the back and hopefully his experience of British and Dutch football will stand him in good stead for a spell at Ibrox, if that is to materialise.
