International defender plus possible big exits – Rangers transfer rumours roundup….

Another mad day of transfer stuff at Ibrox, as Ibrox Noise takes you through all the stories percolating nicely around Govan.

Greg Stewart:

This one still remains in the balance – some sources claim it’s already confirmed, others the opposite. With Jake Hastie already announced, there really shouldn’t be a huge delay for Stewart, but the silence is conspicuous.

Andre Gray:

Still linked – but it’s turning more into a loan. But we still can’t understand why the guy would even be interested. A fine striker, but probably out of our league and budget. Even on loan. Mind you, we might have said that about Defoe too?

Ryan Kent:

Wants to stay, we want him to stay, Liverpool seem open to negotiations, but Gerrard has confirmed it’s up in the air and ultimately down to the player himself if he is going to remain. On balance, we hope he does. But not for the quoted £7M+.

Scott Arfield:

Wants to stay (again), we want him to stay, and Gerrard admits it will take a lot of cash to prise the outstanding performer away from Govan – but he does indeed have a price and should an EPL side or anyone else plump it up, the board will have a decision to make.

Mexer:

Rennes’ 30-year old CB was reportedly scouted by Steven Gerrard who seeks new talent at the back. He’s had a solid career, has played dozens of times for Mozambique, and is good enough to have plied his trade with Sporting as well. He’s certainly one of the more promising names we’ve heard Gerrard linked to, and is at last a half decent CB unlike the joke of a link that was John Souttar. Speaking of…

John Souttar:

Yeah this one went very quiet – his shambolic display v us then even worse one in the Edinburgh derby probably put paid to any hope he had of plying his trade under Stevie. We hope it doesn’t resurrect.

Alfredo Morelos:

Linked with a £20M move to La Liga, we’re bored now of the Morelos circus – Marseille linked with a move again for him too blah blah. Usual stuff. Ok there are a few nuggets on the wire that he’s put his home up for sale/moved out (was it rented like many overseas players do?) and while we can’t verify that, the sooner he’s moved on the better.

Mirko Maric:

The Croatian hitman wouldn’t cost a fortune and resides as the league’s second top scorer – but the Osijek link terrifies us. We really do hope that was just gossip.

Steven Davis:

Announced last night, Rangers secured the in-form midfielder who’s in the best place he’s been for many a year with recent performances showing a new vintage and new side to his game. So, that’s definitely a plus.

More as and when we get it.
