Will this new stat delight or horrify Rangers fans?

After the fourth and last stroll by Rangers versus the latest incarnation of Craig Levein’s hapless Hearts v Steven Gerrard’s men this season, Ibrox Noise will bring you all the post-match reaction following what amounts to by far the easiest of the split fixtures for Rangers.

However, an interesting dynamic has appeared at Ibrox over the past six matches, and while we’ll cover the details in more depth over the coming content, post-Morelos and Kent Rangers has done a damn sight better than pre them.

Looking at the abysmal March Rangers had, and Rangers hadn’t won a single match since February before the Colombian striker got suspended and his wing colleague joined him.

Since Morelos’ exit this Rangers team, while not quite looking a different team, looks a team now.

Ok, horrible sentence there, but ever since the ex-Helsinki man and his circus got banned, and then Kent joined him, Steven Gerrard has got his side looking like one for the first time this season, with three very clinical wins in a row and just one goal conceded in 270 minutes compared with the prior three which were two losses and a draw.

Now, there is a small caveat – Craig Levein’s Hearts have been horrible against Rangers this campaign, and that accounts for two thirds of these excellent results, but Stephen Robinson’s Motherwell, at their patch, in the excellent form they were in, was a similar stroll for Stevie’s side, and we really do have to now seriously take stock of Morelos’ absence and wonder just where we’d have been without him.

This run, currently, is the most composed, eloquent, and clinical stretch of Rangers’ entire season, with polished displays and exploiting of mistakes. It’s not been perfect, and we’ll certainly cover that part too, but for the results of the past three matches to look this good compared with the horrors of the post-February run is night and day.
