Rangers star drops astonishing hint about future

Star of the show on Saturday Ryan Kent has staggeringly ‘admitted’ he was ‘a bit rusty’ following his injury layoff going into the weekend’s Old Firm showdown.

Speaking to Rangers TV, the on-loan Liverpool winger was delighted the team put in a performance for the crowd, but revealed effectively he isn’t fully fit yet and isn’t entirely up to speed.

He said:

“I was a little bit rusty but I was expecting that after almost two months out now.”

The bewildering aspect here is he arguably put in the best performance of his career so far, never mind the best one as a Rangers player, and yet suggests it was some way off his peak.

Till Saturday, his best two displays had been Hearts at Ibrox and Rapid at the same venue, where he’d lit up the pitch with two incredibly energetic and bewitching displays – but Saturday, absolutely, was another level for the 22-year old and yet he has suggested there’s a lot more in him than that.

There is of course every chance the lad is just being modest, but nevertheless if Ryan Kent thinks he can improve upon Saturday, Rangers fans have an extraordinary player to watch get match fit over the coming weeks.

Can’t wait!
