A major deadline day problem for Gerrard ‘in bulk’….

After all the hype over the past two or three months, the closer we get to the midnight deadline, the more it appears the only fringe player to go out on loan this window’s end will be Jordan Rossiter, with an imminent transfer to League Two Bury on the cards.

Lee Wallace and Wes Foderingham appear to have seen any possible moves fall through, Carlos Pena remains AWOL and no one has a clue what is happening with him, and Eduardo Herrera is barely even registered as a Rangers player any more albeit is currently on loan in Mexico with Necaxa.

Meanwhile Steven Gerrard has an astonishing 15 players out on loan already, set to be 16 with Rossiter’s departure.

It all adds up, honestly, to a pretty messy state compared, for example, with the mere two that Celtic have out similarly.

The squad Rangers have amounts to, in total, 44 players – 16 out on loan, one unknown, and 27 squad members of varying levels of fitness.

On the 31st of May every one of these loan players will be back, meaning, except in the few cases of expired deals, Rangers will have around 40+ squad members – the most bulked up and clogged Rangers group we can remember.

We really hope we can get some more outgoings done over today, because Rangers are quite simply too bloated in current form.

Too many players, too many players.
