“I’m sorry” – Rangers man apologises to fans…

Following his mature concession that Rangers were lucky yesterday, Jordan Rossiter has apologised for his own part in Scott Boyd’s rasping goal which saw such a nervous spell against Hamilton before James Tavernier’s first penalty gave Steven Gerrard’s visitors some breathing room.

Boyd found himself in acres of space, and especially did the former England youth captain with rather feeble ease before letting off a 25-yard rocket into the roof of the net, and Rossiter has said sorry that the home goalscorer got past him so easily.

He said:

“To be honest I have a long way to go in terms of getting back to fitness. To be fair the lad has cut inside me for their goal and I apologise for that.”

Rossiter was clearly a long way off match sharpness, albeit a number of fans have been very kind on him and rated him very highly for his display, but we feel there may have been a touch of sentimentality about this as Rossiter appeared to struggle, for us, especially with regards fitness, reading, judgement and mental awareness at this level.

This was never more prevalent than at the goal – but few are happier than us seeing him back and getting there again – we had him pegged as a certain January departure, but yesterday’s outing gives us hope that there’s a chance for Rossiter to turn the past two nightmarish years round.

We hold out belief the Easter Road Rossiter is ready and waiting.
