Steven Gerrard to make bid for Albanian star; reports

Steven Gerrard has today been linked with a second raid on Osijek, with a credited interest in Albanian international Eros Grezda.

The 23-year old winger is being earmarked as a replacement for Jamie Murphy, and is reputed to cost in the region of 3M Euros.

Six-times capped for his country, the rising star of Croatian football has been credited with a desire to leave Osijek and join his ex-team mate Borna Barisic in Govan according to ‘Sports News’, and with Murphy’s long-term absence from the team needing imminent replacement, an international winger/attacking midfielder could be a very savvy signature to capture.

Some reports allege he is already in Scotland but we can’t verify those – after all, Steven Gerrard dismissed the story yesterday about Sporting’s Ryan Gauld despite some outlets claiming the deal was practically done.

Rangers do need to fill up the wing slots and if the interest in Grezda is real, he could well be a fine solution.
