Rangers transfer in doubt following match fixing scandal

Bruno Alves’ move to Serie A side Parma is in major doubt following the newly-promoted Italian top flight side being charged with match fixing.

According to reports from Italy, the Ennio Tardini side’s place in Italy’s Premier League is in huge doubt now in light of these charges, which may well have a knock on effect to any transfers they are undergoing, including Alves’.

The claims rest on two Spezia players who it is claimed were paid by Parma officials to go easy in the final match of the season versus Parma, where victory would secure the yellow and blues’ place back in the top flight.

They won 2-0 and got promoted as a result.

Text messages have been pounced on by the prosecution which they claim incriminate individuals and prove Parma fixed the outcome to ensure their return to the top flight following an absence of four years following bankruptcy, but these new developments could scupper the move for Rangers’ Alves.
