Rangers to have complete allocation for UEL first round – confirmed

Tom Miller has tonight confirmed Macedonian opponents for next Thursday’s UEL first round qualifier Shkupi will have no representation at Ibrox following their club’s rejection of ticket allocation.

The Macedonian fourth-placed league finishing side were given a lucrative tie against Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, but elected against taking any of their allocation anyway, meaning Rangers could well be packed out in under a week with an entirely home-based support.

41,000 attended tonight’s Bury friendly, an extraordinary number for such a pre-season encounter, but that could and should eclipsed next week when the serious business gets underway in earnest following extra tickets now being made available to the Govan faithful.

Following tonight’s impressive performance and result, while tougher tests certainly await going forward, Rangers fans go into next week and the start of the European season with expectation of a better result than this time last season. Albeit that wouldn’t be hard.

And, for that matter, more tickets.
