First team star regular told he can leave; breaking

Reports have broken tonight that 2016 Mark Warburton signing Wes Foderingham has been informed by Steven Gerrard that he can leave.

The 27-year old stopper’s future was in significant doubt following the arrival Allan McGregor, and now it is being claimed he is surplus and is set to leave.

Information is Jak Alnwick is set to be the new number two behind club number one McGregor.

In truth, this story isn’t really that stunning, given Wes has divided fans down the middle since he arrived, and Alnwick’s brief cameos, especially getting the final matches of last season, impressed most watchers considerably more than the club’s established number one.

But now it seems having run the rule over the squad, Foderingham has been rejected by Stevie Ger and Rangers will seek to place Robbie McCrorie as the new number three – especially following the new number one’s explicit praise of him pre-season.

It was telling how little pre-season focus was placed on Foderingham (albeit he did get an interview), and it was Jak Alnwick who got more impact.

It appears Wes’ time is up, and Rangers will look to get a decent chunk of change for him, with any decent fee being a profit on what was a free transfer two years ago.
