Who could Steven Gerrard’s Rangers face in tomorrow’s Europa League draw?

Tomorrow the long-awaited Europa League First Qualfiying Round draw takes place, and the Famous Glasgow Rangers are in the mix as a seeded side.

Now that all leagues are finished, all cups are over and all places are settled, who could Rangers face tomorrow? Ibrox Noise takes you on a tour of a few of the sides we could be welcoming to Govan.

The best side Rangers can come up against are Liechtenstein’s FC Vaduz – Vaduz were fourth in last season’s Brack.ch Challenge League, which is the second tier of Swiss football (Liechtenstein don’t have their own domestic league), and qualified for UEL by way of winning the country’s only actual football competition, the national cup. Real Madrid they aren’t but then Rangers lost to Progres last time so…

Other sides include well-known Hungarian giants Ferencváros who proudly strut their stuff every other week in the 20k Groupama arena. They were second in their country’s top tier domestic league so they’re not half bad, along with Northern Irish regulars to this scene Cliftonville.

Fancy a jaunt to Georgia? Chikhura Sachkhere lie in wait, having managed fourth in their domestic league, while UEL stalwarts Derry City and Shamrock are in attendance too.

KF Laçi also sit among the unseeded sides, the Albanian outfit a top flight team who managed a fourth place finish in the country’s Superliga.

And if you’ve not heard of half of these, don’t worry:

You’ve probably not heard of; DAC Dunajska Streda of Slovakia, Siroki Brijeg of Bosnia, Zaria Balti of Moldova, Balzan FC of Malta or FK Shkupi of Macedonia.

You will, however, know of Progrès Niederkorn who are very much in this draw again and we’re pretty sure you’ll know Wales’ Bala Town, Glenavon and Coleraine from Ulster and maybe Stjarnan FC of Iceland.

Rangers will definitely avoid the likes of Copenhagen, Partizan Belgrade, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, and a side older Bears will remember from the 90s Anorthosis Famagusta.

The draw is tomorrow and should be at 12:00 GMT.
