Rangers seeking four-player signing blitz – reports

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers could be
in line for a stunning four-player blitz if recent reports are anything to go
by.
Having undergone a summer window
in earnest, Stevie Ger has already secured practically a whole new team this
June, with the likes of Nikola Katic, Jon Flanagan and Ovie Ejaria already
contracted to Ibrox.
However, on top of this morning’s rumour about Kyle Lafferty, media reports suggest Rangers are close to Roma’s
Umar Sadiq, Manchester City’s Brandon Barker, and Liverpool’s
Ryan Kent.
All four are attacking solutions,
strongly suggesting Gerrard is content for now with what he has at his disposal
at the back and midfield, and the only area to truly sow up is up front.
Sadiq as we know is a pure
striker, a colossal hitman and would be an excellent and shrewd addition – you don’t
score 5 in 13 for a bottom five Eredivise side if you don’t know the way to
goal.
Meanwhile the Barker story has
resurfaced with a loan deal being reported for the ex-Hibs winger. Neil Lennon
wants the flanker back at Easter Road, but Steven Gerrard and Rangers are
simply a much bigger pull – Barker was outstanding mid-season against Rangers
and was a huge part of Hibs’ success last time around. He could be a very
useful addition.
And Liverpool’s Ryan Kent has
been mentioned quite a few times – the winger had an underwhelming loan at Bristol and is looking to
kick on with his career – he obviously believes Steven Gerrard would be the
best person to do that under.
Harry Wilson sadly turned Rangers
down, as we reported some weeks ago, so that one is apparently off, but Kent could be a
good substitute.
And if Rangers pull all four of
these off, we’d say the summer business is probably done, bar one marquee
signing rumours of securing still persist.
