Big absences and big presences – first day back at training…

As we know only too well, pre-season training began again at the Hummel Training Centre, and certain high profile players were notable for their absences and presences.

Let’s take a look at who showed up, who didn’t, and what today’s work at Auchenhowie suggested about squad future:

Andy Halliday
was present despite claims he has been told he’s surplus, but Jason Holt wasn’t, as the midfielder continues to be linked with a move away.

Similarly linked away striker Alfredo Morelos was all smiles and present for the work, but fellow attacker Michael O’Halloran was AWOL, said to be working his move out in Australia.

Eduardo Herrera has been reported as gone, but he too was in good spirits at the HTC, while Ryan Jack was back to full fitness as the midfielder looks to get his career back on track.

Forgotten man Harry Forrester was back from his loan and is once again a Rangers player, and Ryan Hardie’s deal at Ibrox was reportedly extended by one season and the striker was at training.

Graham Dorrans returned too, albeit did not participate in the workout, and linked-out defender Fabio Cardoso was in attendance as well.

New signings Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor were present too, but Ovie Ejaria, Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson have not yet linked up with their team mates.

Last but not least, despite being linked with a switch to Shrewsbury, stopper Jak Alnwick was back along with perennially linked away Lee Hodson.
