All change at Ibrox as huge star set to leave; reports

The flurry of Rangers’ incessant transfer activity over the past 48 hours has continued with further information that current number one Wes Foderingham is set to leave Ibrox this summer.

The ‘currently injured’ stopper, who mysteriously picked up his knock prior to the Hearts win, has never really been linked with too many teams that we know of, and sees his chances in the first team taking the first huge hit they’ve suffered with the pending capture of ex-Rangers star Allan McGregor, and the ex-Swindon man has reportedly decided to cut his losses and move on.

Foderingham is under contract till 2020, a deal which was announced to much fanfare last autumn, but the only guarantee of such an extension is it means Rangers can secure a good transfer fee for him. If these reports are indeed accurate.

In truth, Rangers are not signing a Scotland goalkeeper to sit as deputy to Foderingham, and there had been claims last season that Wes was looking to return to England soon regardless – does beg the question of why he signed a new deal if true.

Nevertheless, with McGregor looking like becoming the new number one, Foderingham clearly isn’t interested in fighting for his place, and could well have already played his last match for Rangers.
