Rangers star player officially recognised

Jamie Murphy has been officially recognised for his stellar start to life at Ibrox by receiving a call up for Scotland manager Alex McLeish’s first squad.

The on-loan Brighton man has lit up Govan with his exemplary displays and is likely to feature against Costa Rica and Hungary, and despite receiving call ups in the past has never played for his country.

Along with injured Russell Martin and hat trick hero Jason Cummings, the 28-year old winger is set to play a major role in a fundamental reshaping of the national side under new boss Eck, and it is just reward, especially in he and Cummings’ cases, for outstanding displays for their club.

We are a little less sure as to why Martin got the call, but nevertheless we wish him well too.

Unsurprisingly the supposedly neutral national broadcaster almost completely ignored all three of these call ups and focused instead on the first time call ups as well as the Celtic ones.

Some things never change.
